This is my first part of sharing photography composition with you. I am sure you have read about photography compositions through books and resources on the Internet which discussed about Rules of Thirds, Golden "Rules", Curve shape ...etc. But what are all these terms mean?

Ok, a little bit of history, Rules of Thirds concept was created by painters during The Renaissance Age especially in Europe. It is one of the basic style composition to date. The main concept is, Rule of Thirds is to help the photographer to "see" and divide the photo into intersection of dividing lines. This is so that the subject/object can be placed vertically/horizontally or even in the center in order to allow the photo to tell a story.

I had a chat with Ken (Yeoh) early this evening about this and I decided to come up with this. It was just so happens I have a few photos which showed some of the examples. Enjoy!!

Anyway....this is just for fun!!!

thanks adeleide...done some homework. I hope i can put a few more here...but the blog page only allowed three photos to be stored here. I wonder if i could upload more? If not, i will have to do it in my photo gallery.

Good good brother, hahaha well the rule of thumbs is just a guidance,
When comes to people's taste and feeling, it is a very complicated matters. Some like some dont like, even myself also confuse.... however i always goes to the majority and depends on personality or the client's likes.~

Hahhaha----Of course...there are times when some situations are exceptional and the rules are broken....and when science turns to ART!!!

Oh...this is just a basic guide. I am sure there are many cases where the rules are broken. If they want to shoot better, they can't go wrong with this! :-D

This good for me to understand the term of photography, as you know i just know how to shot only.. very lack of the terms :)

thanks kengwoo. yeah, they always talk about the rule of thirds and i try to use it. but as they say, "it's good to know the rules so that you know what you're breaking......"
