To buy or not to buy?
This question has lingered in my head for sometime lately.
What is best of Canon 5D, can you tell me? Or what Nikon D200 can offer?
What ever it is, do you have samples for me to view?

Blog EntryCaught in the Act Sep 5, '06 11:37 PM
for everyone

This is nothing to do with photography compositions. Rules are broken here...!!

Somethings to share, especially candid moment about a bug's life. It was taken by a friend (Ah Tze) and I would like to share these "intimate" moments with you all..

By the way, does anyone knows the codes on how to set the photos size...Just too small to view...

Blog EntryPhotography CompositionsSep 4, '06 11:05 AM
for everyone
This is my first part of sharing photography composition with you. I am sure you have read about photography compositions through books and resources on the Internet which discussed about Rules of Thirds, Golden "Rules", Curve shape ...etc. But what are all these terms mean?

Ok, a little bit of history, Rules of Thirds concept was created by painters during The Renaissance Age especially in Europe. It is one of the basic style composition to date. The main concept is, Rule of Thirds is to help the photographer to "see" and divide the photo into intersection of dividing lines. This is so that the subject/object can be placed vertically/horizontally or even in the center in order to allow the photo to tell a story.

I had a chat with Ken (Yeoh) early this evening about this and I decided to come up with this. It was just so happens I have a few photos which showed some of the examples. Enjoy!!

Anyway....this is just for fun!!!

Blog EntryIn a macro world....Jul 20, '06 11:00 PM
for everyone

This was how I shot my macro photos during my trip with Alex in Kuching. It is not easy to find unique and a variety of mushrooms as we have encountered.

Judging from the photos, you could imagine how "tedious" was it to get good photos. Be prepared  to feel the heat, strain your knee, closing and focus with one eye  (no Live Viewfinder),  the mosquitoes attack (lucky you, Alex..you didn't get any)...and all the creepy crawlers that might just pop-up in front  of you and scare the hell out of you!!....luckily none....so far.

Blog EntryTop 10 Travel Destinations in MalaysiaJul 19, '06 11:50 AM
for everyone
According to Click Magazine, Malaysia is an amazing country with many travel destinations. A survey was conducted by the Asia Explorers for the best travel places (especially for photographers), their choices were the following;

1.Mount Kinabalu - Malaysia highest peak standing at 4101 m. Unforgettable experience!

2. Redand Island - over-developed island resort and yet still doesn't seem to perturb travellers.

3. Penang - Pearl of the Orient, over the years, it has lost its luster and yet tourist still find it worth exploring. Perhaps, the clan houses of olden times, the peranakan mansion and culture, the kapitans of Jalan Keling and the peaceful and friendliness of Kampung Seronok vow them back.

4. Cameron Highlands - I have been here. The smell of the tea leaves left some "scent" to my sense. Visiting the mock-Tudor houses, hibiscus garden, cactus valley, strawberry farms, trekking the Brinchang hill and the Mossy Forest would be such a wonderful and cooling experience!

5. Perhentian Islands - Untouched scenic coves, sandy beaches, corals, snorkelling, diving and just enjoy under the basking sun!

6. Mulu Caves - are the one of the two places listed under the UNESCO's World Herritage List. Limestone caves, subterrranean chambers and wildlife in the caves awaits travellers to explore!
For example, Deer Cave can hold about 30 football fields.

7. Sipadan Island - Very very unique destination for divers. It is a haven for divers and underwater photography. I never been here but one day i will!

8. Kuala Lumpur - The capital city of Malaysia. Modernistic, nostalgic, exciting, vibrant and multi-cultural. That's all i can think of!

9. Taman Negara - simply means, National Park. The park has the second highest peak, Gunung Tahan (2186m), in Malaysia after Kinabalu. A good escape for the city dwellers who wish to be close to nature again. The park covers about 4000 square kilometers covering Pahang, Kelantan and Terengganu state and is 130 million years old, the oldest rain forest in the world.

10. Genting Higlands! - You got money...casino is waiting!

Blog EntryMarketing Gimmick - BewareNov 2, '05 11:06 AM
for everyone
Today, I just came back from banking at reputable bank near my home town. While I was walking to my car, I was approached by a young lad (in his early 20s). He seems kinda nice and he was promoting this kinda "Skim Tuah Jutawan" @ Millionaire Lucky Winner Scheme to me.

He gave me a coupon and I was told to open the mystery gifts that I would won.
Well, how "fortunate", I did win. However, there was another sealed message in within the coupon. This time, he didn't allow me to open it and that I should open it in front of another person at their office at Y2K road (Ipoh people should know). He told me that this was for security reason and to prove that I was not his friend or any immediate family members. That was one of the rules of the contest.

The prizes were; FIRST prize - A Perdana car, SECOND - GEN2 car, THIRD - Home appliances, FOURTH - JAGUH's motorbike and FIFTH prize - RM 5000 cash money.

He showed a piece of cut-out paper from the Metro and China Press newspaper, showing  other previous "winners" to convince me  of how lucky I am, and I could be a winner like them. However, there was a catch. All I need to do was to "support" their company three products which were a super high-tech water dust cleaner, a 6-canister water filter and purifier system and a food ionizer for the price of RM3688. Woahha!????!!. By the way, how much would those things cost? And I don't need them too..........

At first, I was so tempted to go with it and that I must buy their product in order to win the top 5 prizes. He told me to quickly decide and he guaranteed that I will win one of those prizes. He even said that, all this can be settled in one day. And if I didn't win, they will double the RM3688 and give it to me. Whoaoaht???!!!

Sensing something was not right, I told him I need to make a call urgently. To my surprise, he gladly let me make the phone call.  In fact, I called my good and reliable friend (you know who  you are - lah ) to talk about this matter. At the end, I chose not to go with the lad's idea. Turning to him, I said a firm no and the young man, perhaps dejectedly, walkaway.

I know I made the right choice!!!

I hope you will too but don't throw away lottery tickets ok? Muahahah....
